What is genuinely useful to send

• A number that looks wrong. If a figure on a page does not match the standard it cites, or the cited section is wrong, tell us. This is the most valuable message we get and it goes to the front of the queue. Include the page and what you checked it against.
• A diagram that is wrong. Several pages carry scale drawings. If something is drawn in a position it could not physically occupy, we want to know.
• A question a page should have answered and did not. We keep a list, and it is where most new pages come from.
• A broken page, a dead link, or something unreadable on your phone.

What we cannot answer

We have to be straight about this, because the questions arrive anyway and a slow non-answer is worse than a fast one:

• We cannot tell you whether your wall will hold a grab bar. That depends on what is behind the tile in that specific spot. It needs someone standing in the room.
• We cannot give medical advice — nothing about symptoms, conditions, medication, or how to physically move a person. Nobody here is a clinician. See the Medical & Safety Disclaimer.
• We cannot tell you what Medicare will pay in your parent’s case. We can tell you the general rule and why home modifications usually fall outside it. The decision on a specific claim comes from the plan.
• We cannot recommend a contractor or an agency. We have no way to vet anyone local to you, and pretending otherwise would be the most harmful thing on this site.

If your question is one of these, the answer that actually helps is usually the same: ask for an occupational therapist home assessment. An OT sees the house, the person, and the way they actually move through it, which is exactly the part a web page cannot reach.

What to expect

We read everything. We cannot promise a reply to every message, and we would rather say that than leave you waiting on one. Corrections get acted on even when they do not get answered — if you report a wrong figure, watch the page.

Business and press

Same address. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored posts, guest posts, or link insertions, so those emails will not get a reply. The Affiliate Disclosure sets out the only way this site earns money.

If this is an emergency

Do not email us. Call your local emergency number. In the United States that is 911. If someone has fallen and you are not sure whether to move them, that is a call to make now, not a page to read.
